First State Bank
90 Years of Growing with Macomb County
In an industry where mergers and acquisitions
seem to occur daily, First State Bank (FSB) has provided our customers with
high-quality service and solid financial solutions for 90 years. We are
locally owned and operated with 11 branches in Macomb County.
Local ownership means local decisions. It means services tailored to meet
the specific needs of you, our customer. As deposits within the bank grow,
we continually reinvest in the community in the form of loans to individuals
and businesses.
FSB History
FSB opened our doors at the corner of 9 Mile and Gratiot in 1917 as The
Halfway State Bank, the first bank in the village of Halfway (now Eastpointe).
In 1929 we changed our name to First State Bank. In our 90 year lifetime,
FSB has endured the challenges of two world wars, the Great Depression and
witnessed the arrival of television, penicillin and computers. As Macomb
County developed to become the third largest county in the state, we grew
right along with it.
FSB Commitment
Throughout the bank’s history, the word that
is consistently used when employees and customers refer to the bank is “family.”
Whether opening an account, closing a loan or discussing investment options,
we know it is more than dollars and cents, we are helping families realize
their plans and dreams. The employees at FSB are more than just your bankers
– we’re your neighbors. As a true community bank, we actively support national
and local service organizations, charities and cultural events. FSB
is neighbors helping neighbors.
FSB’s Future
FSB continues to focus on the
future by providing the latest in technologies and services, yet we have
not forgotten our commitment to superior customer service we began over
90 years ago: we know their customers by name. We continue to grow in ways
that let us do more for businesses and families.
