Cetera can help you plan for the future and protect your greatest asset – your employees – with competitive benefits to help with your recruitment and retention efforts.

Cetera has expertise in all qualified retirement plans and will help you design a plan tailored to the specific needs of your business. We can accommodate your existing plan design or provide a smooth transition between service providers.

401(k) Plans

We provide many flexible options for 401(k) plans. Working with your Investment Executive, you will receive the guidance you need to review all of the things that factor into retirement plan selection. By evaluating your company’s needs and objectives, Cetera can recommend an appropriate plan design, investment choice and third-party administration firm.

We’ve formed alliances with experienced 401(k) providers and hold them to strict service standards. Through these alliances, we seek to bundle the right 401(k) plan for your company – combining plan design/documents, third-party administration, investments, and communication/education.

Simplified Employee Pension (SEP)

This low-cost retirement plan is designed for small businesses, self-employed individuals, and professional partnerships. Since SEP contributions are discretionary and the percent of contribution may vary each year, it’s an appropriate choice for business owners with variable profits. SEPs combine the higher contributions allowed in traditional pension and retirement plans with the simplicity and cost of an IRA. (Note that SEPs do not allow for employee contributions.)

A SEP plan is designed for employers looking to avoid high administrative costs and hassles, but seeking the tax breaks provided by a qualified retirement plan. Cetera will provide all the necessary documents, reporting and monitoring to establish and maintain your SEP and make available a full spectrum of investments, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, unit investment trust, brokered CDs and more.

Deferred Compensation Plans

A deferred compensation plan allows key employees to defer taxable wages or bonuses until a specific future date – usually retirement. At that time, the employee may be in a lower tax bracket and therefore will owe less in taxes than when the compensation was earned.

There are specific rules that must be followed when deferring an employee's taxable compensation and your Cetera Investment Executive can help you set up and select a deferred compensation plan to meet your needs.

Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees (SIMPLEs)

This low-cost, tax-favored retirement plan is designed for employers with 100 or fewer employees and no other qualified retirement plan. Since SIMPLE employer contributions are mandatory, it is an appropriate choice for business owners with predictable profits. With this type of plan, employees can also contribute to their own retirement plan with possible tax advantages. (Other plans, such as SEPs, do not allow employee contributions.)

Establishing and maintaining a SIMPLE doesn’t have to be complicated and your CeteraInvestment Executive can help you set up and select a SIMPLE plan to meet you and your employees’ needs.
